Profile
Dr Lee Guozhang graduated in 2009 from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, following which he completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Advanced Internal Medicine Senior Residency in Singhealth in 2014 and 2016 respectively. Part of the pioneer batch of Singhealth Residents in 2010, he was the resident representative from 2010-2011 as well as the chairman of the Singhealth Residents’ Council 2011-2012.
He has a keen clinical interest in Palliative Medicine, especially in the field of non-cancer palliative medicine and has completed subspecialty training in Palliative Medicine in July 2018.
After returning from subspecialty training, he set up the Internal Medicine Supportive and Palliative Care Service (IM-SPCS) in Department of Internal Medicine. This service started in June 2019, with a focus on providing supportive & palliative care for patients with chronic disease and multi-morbidity. In addition, he has also initiated collaboration with the SGH Community Nursing team to provide upstream primary palliative care for patients in the community. As a member of the Renal Supportive Care (RSC) team, he works together with the RSC nurse and social workers to care for patients with advanced chronic kidney disease who have opted for non-dialytic therapy.
In addition, he holds concurrent appointments as Director of Community Partnerships, SingHealth Duke-NUS Supportive and Palliative Care Centre (SDSPCC), Co-Chair of the SingHealth Advance Care Planning Workgroup and Chair of the Singapore General Hospital Advance Care Planning Workgroup.
