General Elective Programme

The General Elective Programme aims to encourage self-fulfillment in cancer care under the guidance of the faculty in NCCS. This programme is intended for current students attending Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS).

Objectives

Learn and understand basic oncology.
Learn and understand the various treatment options after a cancer diagnosis has been reached.
Appreciate the differences between Haematology, Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology.
Understand the basics of cancer therapeutics.

Self-arranged	Year 3 students: July 2024 to March 2025 Year 4 students: July 2024 to February 2025
Offered (for Year 4 students)	July 2024 to July 2025 (There will be a 2nd round of applications if there are leftover slots)

AY23/24 Electives Period

Year 3: April 2025 to June 2025 (4 weeks maximum)

Year 4: March 2025 to June 2025 (12 weeks maximum)

*Postings are minimum 1 week, Monday – Friday
